Bringing Stories to Life
Novel Effect, an app that creates interactive read aloud experiences for kids and families, parterned with Annie's Homegrown™ to create five custom in-app story experiences for a month-long campaign to be run across both companies' social media channels.
I was tasked with designing and writing the stories, art-directing the experiences, and creating and setting all the typography that would exist inside the ebooks. I worked with an illustrator to bring my vision to life.

PROBLEM
Clark's Creek Farm is a small, organic farm in Puyallup, Washington. They wanted a timeless and rustic logo that showcased the magnificent Mt. Rainier that is always in view as well as their organic produce. They also wanted to be able to break it apart to be used across various pieces of collateral.
SOLUTION
I created a round badge logo that showcases the farm name in a serif typeface with a textured shadow. Behind it sits Mt. Rainier, and in the foreground is an illustrated root vegetable, a staple of their produce selection. The mountain, the wordmark, and the root vegetable can each be used separately to create a versatile suite of design elements for this evolving brand.
"The monkeys assembled
And with perfect precision,
They stacked themselves high,
And completed the mission!"
"Okay, I'll play, but it has to be quick.
One game, then I'll make like a banana, and split."
My original moodboard
I provided feedback to our illustrator as well as set all the type
(including custom typography like that seen in this banner.)
