The VERSIX Vector Paddle
The Sweet Spot of Price & Performance
Problem
I was tasked with branding an affordable performance pickleball paddle that would live under the existing pickleball brand, VERSIX.
Solution
I came up with the name, the VERSIX Vector, that played into the brand's mission of creating products backed scientifically by experts. The name Vector, carries a scientific tone, as it's a mathematical term that means an object with both magnitude and direction. I loved this name because in pickleball, the core attributes of a paddle are power (magnitude) and control/placement (direction.) I designed the paddle with all of these in mind and included an arrow in the logo, like the mathematical symbol for a vector.
I then art directed a photoshoot working with ex tennis pro, Genie Bouchard, who became the signature name for this paddle.
PROBLEM
Clark's Creek Farm is a small, organic farm in Puyallup, Washington. They wanted a timeless and rustic logo that showcased the magnificent Mt. Rainier that is always in view as well as their organic produce. They also wanted to be able to break it apart to be used across various pieces of collateral.
SOLUTION
I created a round badge logo that showcases the farm name in a serif typeface with a textured shadow. Behind it sits Mt. Rainier, and in the foreground is an illustrated root vegetable, a staple of their produce selection. The mountain, the wordmark, and the root vegetable can each be used separately to create a versatile suite of design elements for this evolving brand.
